Technology-induced innovation in the insurance industry is the focus of the Insurance Lab (I-Lab). In close cooperation with Prof. Dr. Walter Ackermann from the Institute of Insurance Economics at the HSG, the Lab is lead by MSc. Lukas Ackermann. In the I-Lab, the team studies the impact of new information technologies in the field of the Internet of Things on the insurance industry, focused on technologies like smartphones, localization applications or sensor networks. With the help of prototypes and solutions in close cooperation with partner companies, the opportunities to enhance the customer relationship and the industrialization of sales, after sales service - examined or claims processes. Some of the partner companies of the I-Lab are e.g. Die Mobiliar Insurance, Basler Insurance, Zurich, Swisscom, and SAP.
