Corporate Entrepreneurship in Networks
Corporate entrepreneurship and corporate network activities have been consistently shown to positively affect a corporation’s future performance. Nevertheless, the concrete mechanisms through which a specific corporate network position exerts its influence on firm performance are not well understood. We study a representative sample of international corporations from over 20 industries over a six-year period to suggest that the relationship between a corporation’s network posture and performance is mediated by the entrepreneurial orientation. Hence, we apply social network analysis to the study of embedded entrepreneurial behavior.
