Research Project "Innovative Work Behaviour: The Role of Personality and Contextual Factors and Its Consequences on Job Performance"
In the past years, there has been increased interest in the topic of innovative work behaviour in both theory and practice. In this research project, we conduct an emprical study to test a model of employee innovative work behaviour. The goal of this research project is to provide a holistic study of different factors (e.g., supervisory behaviour) that determine employees' innovative work behaviour and to investigate its consequences on employee job performance.
Empirical Study "Threefold Invention Principle"
An empirical study has been conducted in summer 2008 to test the „Threefold Invention Principle“: in order to develop, successfully introduce and maintain innovations in markets companies must possess the competence to „invent“ products three times:
1. as a new bundle of hardware and services
2. as a preference construction in the „heads“ of customers
3. as a mean to combat competitors
A total of 238 CEOs from a representative sample of Swiss and German companies has been interviewed by email. The study was funded by the Swiss Marketing Society (Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Marketing - GfM). The results will be provided to the GfM Platin members.
Research Project "The Relationship between Marketing Resources, New Product Success and Business Strategies"
The emphasis of the international research project „Marketing in the 21st Century“ connecting researchers from 16 nations lies on an international empirical study that will bridge the gap between the resource-based view and marketing. The goal is to provide a holistic study of different marketing resources in order to analyze their interdependencies and their impact on market, innovation and financial performance. An intersectoral survey of 377 CEO's and marketing directors was conducted. The research project is funded by the Grundlagenforschungsfonds (GFF) of the University of St. Gallen.
